About us
Masi London isn’t just a jewellery brand — it’s a reflection of my journey through loss, self-doubt, and learning to embrace imperfection.
My dad loved the ocean. It was his escape, his peace. The sea was vast, unpredictable, and free — qualities I admired in him but struggled to find in myself. When I lost him, the ocean became a painful reminder of what was gone. But over time, it became something else too — a quiet teacher. It taught me about movement, resilience, and the beauty of change.
In the middle of grief, insecurity, and losing my job, I found myself drawn to pearls. I didn’t fully understand why at first. But the more I learned, the more I saw myself in them.
A pearl begins as an irritation — a grain of sand that the oyster can’t reject. So it works with it, embracing it, layer by layer, until it becomes something beautiful. Pearls aren’t shaped by force. They’re not cut, or polished to be perfect. They’re raw, organic, full of texture and flaws — and that’s what makes them powerful.
Still, I wasn’t drawn to the usual delicate pearls. I wanted ones with edge — a bit chaotic, a bit playful. I wanted to mix funkiness with elegance. To blend softness and strength in ways that didn’t follow rules. Pieces that felt like me.
As someone who spent so long trying to present a perfect version of myself, pearls taught me something different — that real beauty lives in what makes us unique. In our differences. In our marks, our layers, our stories.
Every Masi piece carries that feeling — a connection to the sea, to my dad, and to the power of transformation.
Masi is more than jewellery.
It’s a reminder: you are enough, exactly as you are.
The Process Behind the Pieces

Pearls After Harvest – Cleaned and Ready to Begin
These cross-shaped pearls have spent over six years growing inside oysters. Once harvested, they’re carefully cleaned and sorted. This photo shows them post-cleaning — raw, organic, and glowing with natural luster. Each one is a little different in shape and shine, which is exactly what makes them special.

Sorting and Pairing, One by One
In this step, each pearl is laid out, examined, and paired by hand. It’s not about finding perfect matches — it’s about balance, feeling, and flow. This is where the individuality of each pearl is honoured, grouped not by flawlessness, but by harmony.

The Beading Table – Where Every Piece is Born
Each piece is hand-strung in a small studio run by Julie and her husband — a family business built on care and tradition. They welcomed me into their world and showed me the process with pride and warmth.
It’s not a factory — it’s a quiet workshop filled with thread, pearls, and years of skill. Every Masi piece starts here, made by hands that truly care.
